Phone App App Reviews
This feels like a complete rip-off of the dockphone app. And it doesnt even work: once I start typing a name and click the call button, nothings happening. So Ill stick to dockphone and wait for their update which also includes (so they said in the support at least) the menu bar icon and the shortcut FOR FREE if you bought it once.
Searching is not working on OS X 10.11
It doens’t show any result when you type your contacts.
It works!
Really, not much to it. Does exactly what you would think. 5 stars.
I test this app to make a call to my office number (landline), and it pop up facetime interface. So, it seems to me that this is a software wrapped on top of FaceTime/facetime audio. Then I don’t see the point why people need it.
Contrary to other reviews this app does work, you cannot call yourself to test it ! it pops up facetime and turns on your camera. As long as your not calling yourself as some others did to test the app, it will ask you to confirm the call in the upper right and let you make the call instead of having to go through the face time interface. Yes facetime is still used to make the call because thats how your mac ususes your iPhone to make calls. This app just saves you from going through face time interface and opening the camera just to type in a phone number. Now all you have to do with this app is click the phone in the upper right and type in the phone number or contact then call and confirm the call. Super simple.
I’ve got opportunity to download this app as an offer free of charge. On the other hand, there is bothering window forcing me to purchase full version which I don’t want. Also, I experienced disapearing dial window which I can bring to front “find” again only by minimizing all open apps. At last, the app does not send DTMF by means that the app does not pass tones if you are prompted to answer by pressing dials or the hash key (i.e. when you dial a hotline).
Free?
According to Redmond Pie this was free. It is really $1.99 and just a trial version. Works but not that impressive even for $1.99.
Pretty slick
Works as advertised...
Plain ans simple it just is messed up. Sometimes a call is made, usually not. The preference window comes up each time it is used and there seems to be no toggle to turn it off. Sadly, I too opted to pay for the full version thinking that might fix it, it did not. Save your money! Note to developer … Fix this and I will glady remove my negative review.
A Waste Of Time!
A waste of time. This app simply uses facetime for everthing.
I made the mistake of paying for the pro upgrade, thinking it would get rid of the nag screen, and give me a few more options. You still get the nag screen with the pro version! Only thing - now it tells you that you’ve upgraded. As if you didn’t already know. No one to write to. No customer support. “Phone App Support” takes you to a page that has nothing on it other than the vendor name and a message that says “New site coming”. How useless is that? Sorry I wasted my money. Wish I could get it back.
